Hi, I'm Sophie!
And the Modest Lobster is my Northamptonshire-based design studio, where I create colourful things for colourful people.
Born from a love of illustration, a millennial-sized obsession with stationery, and a habit of buying cards for absolutely no occasion, the Modest Lobster is all about celebrating creativity, small-batch production, and the joy of making things by hand.

Two years ago, we made the switch from using large-scale print houses to doing all of our printing in house. Now, all of our latest product ranges are made to order and hand finished (by me!) – which means higher quality papers, rich dye-based inks and less waste, as we only print what we need!
Every card, art print and even Birthday badge starts life as a doodle on my iPad. From there, I print, assemble and personally check every single order before packing it up with plenty of love before it heads out into the world.
